Last Season’s ECHL Defenseman of the Year to Make Falcons Debut Tonight in Idaho
FRESNO, Calif. – The American Hockey League’s Cleveland Barons assigned Ray DiLauro, the ECHL’s 2004-05 Defenseman of the Year, to the Fresno Falcons yesterday. The fourth-year d-man has totaled 24 points (5g-19a) in 47 games with the Barons this season after racking up 52 points (12g-40a) for the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers a year ago. Fresno acquired the ECHL rights to DiLauro from the Nailers on Oct. 17, 2005, in exchange for financial considerations. He is slated to make his Falcons debut tonight when the team plays in Boise against the Idaho Steelheads.
Also yesterday, Fresno placed forward Kelsey Muench on seven-day injured reserve.
Tonight’s tilt against the Steelheads is the first of a three-game set at Qwest Arena between the two clubs that continues on Friday and Saturday, March 24 and 25. All three games can be heard live on 1550 Sporting News Radio beginning with the FutureTek Pre-game Show at 5:45 p.m. Pacific each evening. Fans may also view the games online courtesy of B2 Networks, which can be accessed via the Falcons home page at www.fresnofalcons.com.
