LAST WEEK'S RECORD: 2-0-1 OVERALL RECORD: 16-4-8, 40 pts., 1st Place Pacific Division

Dec. 30 @ Bakersfield, 6-5 Overtime Loss - A see-saw game that saw both teams overcome deficits before the Condors finally won in overtime. Luke Curtin scored two power play goals in a 34 second span to key a four-goal second period that gave Fresno a 4-2 lead heading into the third. Bakersfield would rally with three straight goals to charge back in front, but Pete Fregoe scored in the final minute of regulation with Falcons goaltender Jamie Holden pulled in favor of an extra attacker to force OT.

Dec. 31 @ Phoenix, 7-3 Win - In the first-ever meeting between the two teams, the Falcons tied a team record by scoring five power play goals on their way to equaling their season high with seven goals in all. Cory Murphy scored twice and Shawn Mather recorded a goal and two assists to help lead the way.

Jan. 1 @ Phoenix, 4-1 Win - Fresno's power play remained hot as the team scored another three goals with the man advantage to complete a sweep of the RoadRunners. Fregoe (2g-1a) and J.F. Plourde (1g-2a) provided the bulk of the offense and Holden stopped 29 shots, including all he faced when the Falcons were out-shot 13-5 in a scoreless opening period.

NOTES

  • The Falcons carry a season-high 10-game unbeaten streak (6-0-4) into this week's games at Victoria. The team has not lost in regulation since a 5-1 setback on Dec. 4 to the Alaska Aces and has lost just once in regulation over its last 18 games (10-1-7) dating back to Nov. 12.
  • Fresno is also riding a team-record 11-game unbeaten streak on the road, which bests the old mark of nine straight games set back during the 2002-03 season. The Falcons last failed to get at least one point in the standings on the road during a 5-2 loss to the Las Vegas Wranglers on Nov. 8.
  • Plourde's goal on Sunday was his 13th of the year, tying him with Luke Curtin for the team goal-scoring lead. Curtin still leads the team with 38 points overall (13g-25a), followed by Fregoe with 30 points (11g-19a) and Plourde with 28 (13g-15a).
  • Both of Murphy's goals on Saturday were scored with the extra man, giving him a team-high eight power play goals on the season. Curtin leads the league with 23 power play points (5g-18a), while Murphy is second in the ECHL with 21 (8g-13a).
  • Fresno begins the week with its largest lead of the season in the Pacific Division. The first-place Falcons have a nine-point edge over the second-place Long Beach Ice Dogs with three games in hand.
