Athletic Trainer Brad Jellis & Equipment Manager Chris Burke Receive Recognition

FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno Falcons athletic trainer Brad Jellis and equipment manager Chris Burke were each selected in a vote of their National Conference peers to represent the Falcons at the 2006 Bud Light ECHL All-Star Game and Skills Competition. The two members of Fresno’s hockey operations staff will join Falcons players and National Conference representatives Luke Curtin, Brett Jaeger, and Dustin VanBallegooie at the annual ECHL event, which will be held at Save Mart Center on Jan. 24 and 25.

Jellis, who hails from Creston, British Columbia and is in his first season as the team’s athletic trainer, earned a bachelor’s of science degree in athletic training from the University of North Dakota before graduating with a master’s degree in sports science from Bemidji (Minn.) State.

Burke, who is also in his first year working with the Falcons, spent last season in Atlantic City where he was the equipment manager for the Boardwalk Bullies, who were then led by current Fresno head coach and general manager Matt Thomas. Prior to his experience with the Bullies, the Cincinnati native spent a total of four years with the ECHL’s Cincinnati Cyclones.

The Falcons conclude a six-game road trip and a stretch of 12 of 13 away from home when they travel to face the Victoria Salmon Kings tonight, tomorrow, and Saturday. All three games may be heard live on 1550 Sporting News Radio beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the FutureTek Pre-game Show.

Fresno will then finally return home to Save Mart Center on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 7 p.m. to take on the Florida Everblades.

The game is a Carl’s Jr. Two-for-Tuesday, with two-for-one coupons available at participating Carl’s Jr. restaurants. Individual tickets are on sale now at all Ticketmaster outlets and Save Mart Center’s box office with prices ranging from $8 - $22.
