Highlights Include Hat Trick and 100th Goal as a Pro

FRESNO, Calif. The ECHL announced today that Fresno Falcons alternate captain Shawn Mather is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for Feb. 6 – 12.

Mather racked up five goals and four assists last week during the Falcons’ four-game sweep of the Stockton Thunder.  His most impressive game of the four came during a 3-2 win on Feb. 10, when he notched a hat trick to take over the team’s goal-scoring lead.  The same night he also took over Fresno’s power play goal lead with his 10th of the year, recorded his league-leading sixth game-winning goal, and established a new Falcons team record and league season-high with 13 shots on goal.  During the next game on Feb. 11, Mather scored two goals, the second of which was the 100th goal of his professional career.

On the season, the fifth-year pro leads the Falcons with 23 goals and is second on the team with 45 points behind Luke Curtin, who was named ECHL Player of the Week from Oct. 24 – 30.

In Glas Co, the exclusive puck provider of the ECHL, will donate a case of pucks to the Junior Falcons Hockey Club on behalf of Mather.  In Glas Co has donated more than 14,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities since it began sponsoring the Player of the Week Award in 2000-01.

The Falcons take the ice tonight at 7 p.m. when they host the Idaho Steelheads at Save Mart Center.  The game is a Carl’s Jr. Two-for-Tuesday, with two-for-one coupons available at participating Carl’s Jr. restaurants.

Individual tickets are on sale now at all Ticketmaster outlets and Save Mart Center’s box office with prices ranging from $8 - $22.  For complete ticket information and an arena map of Save Mart Center, visit, or contact the Falcons front office directly at (559) 485-PUCK (7825).
