January 24 @ Bakersfield, 2-0
Loss - The Falcons suffered their third shutout of the season
as their 10-game unbeaten streak (9-0-1) to begin 2005 came
to an end. Goaltender Jamie Hodson kept Fresno within striking
distance throughout the entire contest, though, by making
40 saves.
January 28 vs. Las Vegas, 4-1
Win - In their first game following the All-Star Break, Fresno
used a pair of three-point nights from Shaun Sutter
(2g-1a) and Jason Weaver (1g-2a) to win their sixth game in
a row at home.
January 29 vs. Long Beach,
5-3 Loss - The Falcons let leads of 2-0 and 3-2 slip away,
the latter disappearing when the Ice Dogs scored a pair of
goals 47 seconds apart in the third period, on their way to
losing in regulation at home for just the second time since
Nov. 6. The one other loss at Save Mart Center during that
time was also to Long Beach on Dec. 14.
January 30 @ Long Beach, 5-0
Loss - The team's struggles against the Ice Dogs this season
continued as the club fell to 1-5-0 in the season series.

Wednesday, Feb. 2 @ Victoria,
7 p.m. - The Falcons play for the first time in Canada when
they travel to face the Victoria Salmon Kings. The live radio
broadcast begins at 6:50 p.m. on 103.1 FM, The Mountain Cat,
with the pre-game show.
Friday, Feb. 4 @ Victoria,
7 p.m. - The second game of a three-game set against the eighth-place
Salmon Kings. Catch the live play-by-play action on 103.1
FM, The Mountain Cat, beginning at 6:50 p.m. with the pre-game
show.
Saturday, Feb. 5 @ Victoria,
7 p.m. - For the finale of the series against the Salmon Kings,
fans are invited to BC's Pizza & Beer for a Falcons listening
party. Free pizza and soft drinks will be provided courtesy
of Sierra Tel Internet. BC's Pizza is located at 1315 Shaw
Ave. across from Sierra Vista Mall. The live radio broadcast
begins at 6:50 p.m. with the pre-game show on the Mountain
Cat.
NOTES
- Shaun Sutter scored three power play
goals last week to move into a tie for the league lead
with 10 power play tallies on the season.
- Sutter had four goals overall last week,
tying him with Dan Tessier for the team goal-scoring lead
at 17 goals apiece.
- The Falcons' loss to Long Beach on Saturday
snapped a six-game home winning streak.
- For the month of January, Fresno went
10-3-1.
- The Falcons are ranked 6th (17.8%) on
the power play and 16th (82.7%) on the penalty kill.
- Fresno begins the week in a tie for fourth
place in the West Division with the San Diego Gulls. They
trail the third-place Alaska Aces by four points in the
standings and the division-leading Long Beach Ice Dogs
by 12 points.
