FALCONS STILL CAN'T SOLVE CONDORS
Fresno Falls to 2-9-1 Against Bakersfield with 5-2 Loss

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Playing their ninth game in 12 days and dressing the
league minimum of 13 skaters, the Fresno Falcons were defeated, 5-2, on
Tuesday by the Bakersfield Condors at Centennial Garden.

The Falcons took an early lead in the game when their leading goal scorer,
Kris Porter, notched his 30th of the season at 9:30 of the first period.
Bakersfield answered less than a minute later with J.J. Wrobel providing his
ninth of the season, and the clubs headed to the second period tied at one.

Wrobel scored his second of the game 4:11 into the second before Falcons
defenseman Kirk DeWaele ripped a slapshot past Bakersfield goaltender Beau
Fritz on the power play at 10:48. Despite giving up a season-high 22 shots
in the frame, Fresno still managed to get to the third tied at two.

The Falcons controlled the majority of the play in the final frame,
outshooting the Condors, 17-8, but ended up yielding three goals while
scoring none. Paul Willett netted the game-winner with the teams four aside
at 3:37, and Christian Skoryna provided a little insurance to give
Bakersfield a two-goal advantage at 15:27. Jeff Goldie also added a goal
late for the final 5-2 margin.

Fresno's loss drops the team to 30-22-6 with 66 points and gives them a
record of 2-9-1 against Bakersfield this season. They now trail both the
Condors and the San Diego Gulls by nine points in the standings.

The Falcons actually make a quick stop at home in Fresno on Wednesday before
heading back out to complete their 11-game road swing on Friday and Saturday
in San Diego. Both games can be heard live on 103.1 FM, The Mountain Cat,
beginning at 6:50 p.m. with the Mail Boxes, Etc. Pre-game Show. The road
trip finale is in Bakersfield on Sunday, March 9, with the radio broadcast
