FALCONS SCORE SEASON HIGH NINE GOALS
Complete Three-game Sweep of the Aces

ANCHORAGE - Despite having just 11 healthy skaters which necessitated the
signing of two emergency players - current Falcons assistant coach Greg
Spenrath and former Anchorage Ace Chris Pont - the Fresno Falcons cruised to
a 9-2 victory against the Aces on Saturday at Sullivan Arena behind four
goals from captain Jason Weaver and a team-record six assists from Kris
Porter. The victory completed a three-game sweep of Anchorage following two
Falcons wins earlier in the week.

Weaver kicked off the scoring with a power play goal 4:33 into the hockey
game, but Anchorage responded with a power play goal of its own off the
stick of B.J. Young at 11:13 of the first. The Falcons answered back with
goals from Brad Both, Colin Embley and Weaver again in a span of 4:08 giving
them a 4-1 lead after the opening frame.

Fresno would score three times in the second, including off a short-handed
break-away from Weaver to give the Falcons a 7-1 lead heading to the third.
The rout continued in the third with Weaver's fourth tally marking the
second time in three games and third time this season against the Aces that
a Falcons player has equaled the franchise record by scoring four times in a
game.

Porter assisted on all four of Weaver's goals plus on a pair from Embley as
he became the first Falcon ever to record six points in a single game.
Spenrath, whose number 27 was retired earlier this year, finished the game
with two assists and becomes the only player to don a Falcons sweater during
all eight years of the team's run in the West Coast Hockey League.

The victory was Fresno's fourth in a row overall and seventh straight
against Anchorage. It lifted the Falcons to 22-13-5 and 49 points, one
point behind the Bakersfield Condors and just two points back of the
second-place San Diego Gulls.

The Falcons return home to open a six-game home stand against the Long Beach
Ice Dogs on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m. at Selland Arena. The game is a
Carl's Jr. Two for Tuesday, with two-for-one coupons available at Fresno
area Carl's Jr. Restaurants. Tickets are still available at the Selland box
office, all Ticketmaster outlets and online at www.ticketmaster.com.
