FALCONS MAKE IT SIX STRAIGHT
Victory Over Aces Vaults Team into Third

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons kept alive a six-game winning streak and
leap-frogged the Bakersfield Condors into third place with a 4-2 victory
against the Anchorage Aces on Tuesday at Selland Arena in front of a crowd
of 3,425.

The Aces continued to have success against the Falcons when skating with the
extra man after Kimbi Daniels gave his club a 1-0 lead with a power play
goal at 5:26 of the first period. Fresno racked up 15 shots on Anchorage
goaltender Christian Soucy before Colin Embley finally beat him on shot
number 16 by re-directing a Kirk DeWaele slapshot for his 10th of the year
with just 25 seconds remaining in the period.

The Falcons would strike again 2:00 into the second as Jason Weaver extended
his team season-high goal-scoring streak to six straight games with his 11th
of the season on the power play. Daniels would give Anchorage their 11th
power play goal against Fresno in their past four games against one another
when he scored his 13th of the year to tie the game at two at 7:33 of the
period. Matching Daniels' two-goal effort was Embley, who finished off a
break-away at 16:32 after two tape-to-tape feeds from goaltender Mark Gowan
and DeWaele caught the Aces in a change, giving Fresno a 3-2 lead heading to
the third.

Kris Porter gave the Falcons a little insurance 5:24 into the final frame
with this team-leading 17th of the year, which moves him into fourth on the
league goal-scoring list. Gowan did not see much work, but stopped 16 of 18
on the night for his fifth victory against the Aces and sixth win overall.

With a record of 18-12-4 and 40 points, Fresno moved one point ahead of the
Condors into third place in the standings, three points behind the
second-place San Diego Gulls.

Up next for the Falcons is a showdown with the first-place Idaho Steelheads
on Friday and Saturday nights at Selland. Both games begin at 7:30 p.m.
with the first 1,500 fans receiving a Falcons tankard mug on Friday and a
Falcons sports bag on Saturday. This current five-game home stand draws to
a close on Sunday at 5 p.m. with the arrival of the Long Beach Ice Dogs.
