Fresno Signs Jeff Blair
The Fresno Falcons have announced
the signing of Goaltender Jeff Blair, an invitee to the Canadian National
Team Training Camp, for the 1999-2000 season. Blair will join veteran Jeff
Ferguson to complete Fresno's strong goaltending tandem.
"Jeff is an exciting young
goaltender with a lot of potential," said Blaine Moore, the Falcons
Head Coach. "The combination of talent and veteran leadership in our
goalies makes us very confident defensively going into the season."
The 5'11", 170 lb., native
of Kamloops, British Columbia spent the last four years in the Western Hockey
League including time with the Seattle Thunderbirds and Saskatoon Blades.
During the 1998-99 season with the Tri-City Americans, Blair posted a 19-8-1
record, 2.95 goals against average, and, .889 save percentage with three
shutouts. His level of play garnered national attention, and he earned himself
an invite to the Canadian National Team Training Camp, September 8-14.
